AUFRONS latest research progress
After a tough period with vacuum leaks of our main chamber and a few failures with our laser system, we are now ready to set up a crossed optical dipole trap (currently only one) and another classical absorption imaging system for the characterisation of the Bose Einstein Condensate that will be loaded in a 1D optical lattice to test our sub-wavelength imaging system. #AUFRONS
Congratulations, Caroline Busquet on successfully defending your PhD thesis and becoming Dr. Busquet
On the 28th of November 2017, Caroline Busquet successfully defended her PhD thesis entitled "Développement d'un système d'imagerie superrésolue d'un gaz d'atomes ultrafroids pièges dans des réseaux". Enjoy your new job within Muquans! #AUFRONS
AUFRONS, Adèle Hilico is joining us
Adèle Hilico joined our experiement as a postdoctoral researcher. She will be working on the laser cooling experiment of Potassium. Welcome Adèle! #AUFRONS
Doubly-dressed states for near field trapping and subwavelength lattice structuration
Arxiv:1710.05696, Oct 2017, version 1 http://arxiv.org/abs/1710.05696 Update: March 2018, version 2 #AUFRONS #CAB

A new step towards a nanostructured optical lattice
We recently published the theoretical article Doubly-dressed states for near field trapping and subwavelength lattice structuration. In this article (version 2, March 2018), we describe the numerical implementations for the Casimir-Polder potential computation of a plane surface. The trapping method is explained in details, followed by the stratified medium. We expect to extend the results to a nanostructured potential in one dimension shortly. #AUFRONS #CAB
Manipulating Fock states of a harmonic oscillator while preserving its linearity

And now Ultra-cold Matter...
All the AUFRONS teams is very motivated by the recent breakthrough of the experiment! We have now reached the quantum degeneracy in our set-up!! We have now a BEC with more than 1 million atom and lots of room for improvement! A nice gift just before Christmas vacations. The images are taken after 35 ms TOF. #AUFRONS
