Ultra-cold atoms in 0g in the lab
We have recently started operating our 0g-simulator which gives access to microgravity in the laboratory. The first results are very promising : for now we have an ultra-cold atomic source in 0g of some 10,000 atoms at a temperature below 100nK, which we are able to reproduce every 15 seconds. We expect soon to get the quantum degeneracy by minimizing atom losses during the trajectory of the engine.
